Hey Romeo opens for Deric Ruttan at the Stockey Friday

PARRY SOUND - This Friday Hey Romeo and Deric Ruttan make a stop in Parry Sound.  
For years these artists have been taking the country world by storm with their fresh and energetic sound and for the first time ever these two amazing forces are coming together to deliver one powerful show. The tour will stopping in at Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in Parry Sound on February 5.  
Hey Romeo is Stacie Roper (vocals), Rob Shapiro (keys) and Darren Gusnowsky (guitar).
This country trio from Edmonton, Alberta has chalked up more than 700 shows since forming in 2002. The band has opened for many acts including Sugarland, Blue Rodeo, Darius Rucker, Lonestar, Emerson Drive, Johnny Reid, Joe Diffie and the Kentucky Headhunters.  
In 2008 the band received the Top New Group of the Year award at the Canadian Country Music Awards.
This year Hey Romeo’s keyboardist Rob Shapiro won CCMA Keyboard Player of the Year.
Last year Hey Romeo played sold out shows across western Canada. The band looks forward to taking their music across Canada in the New Year showcasing fan favourites and songs from their brand new album That’s What I Am, coming in the spring, Hey Romeo are set for a busy 2010.
Over the course of touring the First Time In A Long Time album in 2008 and 2009, Bracebridge born Deric Ruttan has developed a reputation for putting on high-energy shows.
How his songs translate to a live audience is important to Ruttan and every performance has been sure to leave the audience wanting more. Hey Romeo are looking forward to opening the show for Ruttan.
