Lobster dinner for a cause

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Lioness Club and the Rotary Club of Huntsville Lake of Bays are teaming up to host a lobsterfest at Chaffey Hall on Saturday, June 23.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with appetizers and drinks to start. Dinner is lobster or beef with salads and sides. The event ends at 10 p.m.
This year changes have been made to enhance the speed of service and club members are encouraging the community to come and enjoy a great evening of food, friends and fun.
Tickets for a lobster dinner are $30 and beef dinner tickets are $15. With the purchase of either dinner, an extra lobster can be purchased for $20.
For tickets, drop by Treasures and Trophies on Main Street in Huntsville or call Barb Searle at 705-789-7030 or Steven Lavigne at 705-788-4223.
Proceeds from the event will go toward both Lioness and Rotary projects, which will support Huntsville and the international community.

Club focusing on controversial books

Tour the world without leaving town

Seeing the world is as easy as visiting the local public library. “It’s armchair travelling,” said acting chief librarian Caralene Clement. The Gravenhurst Public Library finished its spring travel series with a full house on April 30 viewing a presentation on Costa Rica. Because the series was so well attended, the library is planning a second set this fall.
