Catch Robin Clipsham in comedy thriller, Thumbs

COMEDY THRILLER.. Jane Miller, Michael Hogeveen and Robin Clipsham star in Thumbs, currently on stage at the Orillia Opera House.
Audiences will die laughing at LaughOutLoud’s third show of the season starring Bracebridge actor Robin Clipsham.
Thumbs is a comedy thriller written by Rupert Holmes. It is currently playing at the Orillia Opera House.
The theatrical production pits two strong women against each other in a battle of wills. When a murder investigation uncovers some interesting twists and turns, Clipsham faces off with Dora Award-winning actor Jane Miller, and fireworks ensue. Both have a secret, and neither is accustomed to losing the game.
A combination of Agatha Christie and Seinfeld, you really shouldn’t be too disappointed that you didn’t figure out “whodunnit” until the last possible second.
Clipsham and Miller are supported by Michael Hogeveen, Kristi Frank and Richard Peters. Frank and Hogeveen come to the show directly from the LaughOutLoud production of I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change, which received rave reviews in the Studio Theatre.
Directed by television choreographer Dave Campbell (watch for him on YTV’s The Next Star this season) and designed by Tim Webb (chosen one of Miami’s 33 creative minds to watch in 2011), Thumbs is set to deliver some high-octane theatre to the summer stage.
Thumbs opened Aug. 2 and runs until Aug. 27.
This is the third in a series of four shows being presented by LaughOutLoud this summer in the Orillia Opera House studio theatre. Richard Ouzounian recently described the LaughOutLoud season as eclectic in his review of summer theatres this year, and particularly recommends the season closer, Moving Day as a must-see production. This is the second season for the Orillia-based company and it is quickly developing a loyal local following.
Tickets are available from the Orillia Opera House Box Office, 705-326-8011 or online at www.orilliaoperahouse.ca.
