‘The Tuesday Group’ opens show at Chancery Art Gallery

OPENING NIGHT.. Artists Donna McLaren, Gayle Dempsey, Susan Ware and Lynda Lynn are seen at the opening reception for The Tuesday Group show at Chancery Art Gallery in Bracebridge. The show runs until May 7.

BRACEBRIDGE — On Thursday, April 21, 12 members of The Tuesday Group officially opened their first group show at Chancery Art Gallery in Bracebridge to an appreciative crowd. The music of Jamie Sherman added a special touch to the event.

The Tuesday Group has been drawn from a series of classes, seminars and development meetings over the past eight years, under the guidance, mentoring and encouragement of artist Pat Fairhead. Many members have been painting their entire lives, have completed formal art training and have their work in private and public collections. Others in the group began exploring and developing their talent later in life.

Their individual expression is clearly demonstrated through their diverse styles and subject matter. Several of the artists have established their own working studios and without exception, all take their painting seriously.

The artists presented include: Martha Davis, Gayle Dempsey, Wendie Donabie, Pat Fairhead, Janice Feist, Lynda Lynn, Glenys McAlpine, Sandy McIntyre, Donna McLaren, Cheryl Mount, Margaret Richards, Susan Ware and Pat Whittle.

The Tuesday Group show runs to Saturday, May 7 at Chancery Art Gallery, located at 10 Chancery Lane in Bracebridge.

For more information contact Wendie Donabie at 705-646-3663 or Susan Ware at 705-684-9632.
