BRACEBRIDGE - Extra curricular sports are back to normal at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School.
Jason Sprathoff, head of the athletics department at the high school, said they lost most of the winter season and are now kicking off the spring season. Badminton has had try-outs and is starting tournament play this week. The rest of the sports will begin at the end of April as usual.
“We’re full steam ahead,” Sprathoff said.
Sports coming in April are girls’ soccer, track and field, rugby, and co-ed volleyball.
“We won’t have lacrosse this year, we generally do, but our coach that generally does lacrosse has a newborn this year,” he said.
OFSAA curling championships take place in Ottawa this week, but Sprathoff said with the work action situation teachers faced they weren’t able to start a curling team in time to attend the event in Ottawa.
