Wednesday night – Section ‘A’ Georgian Bay Financial
We are nearing the end of our second schedule with only two games left and a difference of only one point between the two top teams.
Nanci Beers, Lorrie Kerr, Andrea Tranter and Vicki Heikoop started off with a big lead – 7-0 at half time – and carried their momentum through, only giving one end to the Joanne Morrish rink, maintaining their position in first place.
Our second place team is the Julie Truscott, Joanne Gill, April McNamara and Cheri Sidon rink, as they defeated the Debbie Iezzi rink in a Friday night game.
In the Trudy Orr versus Shelley van Erp game, Shelley made a perfect freeze, nestled into a pocket for a point in end one. In end two, there were nine rocks sitting in front of the circle, with Shelley trying for a raise, but came up light, giving Trudy a point. It was 4-2 for Trudy at midway, then in end six Shelley face four, cut it down to one, quitting after six ends with the score 6-2 for Trudy, Lisa Moore, Melanie Taylor and Megan Connor.
In the Laurie Robinson versus Heather Fisher game, it was a tight 3-2 at half time, then Laurie, Cece Barks, Erin Walker and Kari Barks went on for the win.
In the Trudie Johnson versus Marian McIsaac game, Marian got on the scoreboard with a wide-open draw for three, to start the game. Trudie got little support from her team, so there were many missed opportunities, until they finally got their act together in the fifth end and counted a big six ender with the scoreboard showing 8-5 for them. But Marian soon ended that little spurt by picking up another three and going on for the win, along with Liz Sims, Pat Jarzembecki and Beth McIsaac.
Section ‘B’ – Logan’s of Parry Sound
The Bonnie Felker and Sue Shadd rinks are sitting tied for top spot in this section, with Sue, Sue Ferguson and Alesin Patterson getting the win over Kelly Hergaarden.
Super tight game
In the Sue Smith versus Joen Huff game, it was super tight, with Sue one up going home and Kelly Stevenson picking up two for the win, for Joen, Kelly, Corlys Gougeon and Bonnie Felker.
The win went to Robin Galbraith, Bev Webb, Kristy Pawlech and Shari Phillis from Jessie Langford.
In the Janet Trussler versus Melissa Hayhurst game, it was Janet, Gillian Hargreaves, Pat Cramp and Paul Dalesando that got the win.
