U10 travel team wins last game of season

BARRIE - Monday night the Frank Penfold Construction U10s travelled to Barrie for their last regular season match against the Barrie U10 squad.
The pitch was in good condition and the boys were ready to show their best. After a delay, the game started well for the Parry Sounders as they controlled possession for most of the first half. Forwards Jayden Steele and Henry Ford were able to work a perfect give and go to take an early 1-0 lead. This put the Barrie team back on the defensive as Parry Sound continued to press.
Soon, it was 3-0 thanks to some strong runs by Jayden Steele who completed a natural hat-trick. Jackson Durant made a sparkling play up field as he waited for support and was able to finish to give the team a four goal advantage going into the second half.
As expected, the Barrie boys weren’t done as they took it to Parry Sound right from the second half kick off. Barrie wore down the Parry Sound defense and climbed back into the game with two goals.
The Parry Sound forwards, Henry Ford, Quinn Buckland and Brody Schneider had numerous chances to extend the lead but, the Barrie keeper was strong in goal. Joey Green and Liam Marshall covered the defensive back half and in the end the team held on for the victory, 4-2.  Congratulations to all the players on an excellent finish to the season. Thanks to our sponsor Frank Penfold Construction, the parents, friends and  family who supported our team, looking forward to bigger, brighter season next year.
