Section ‘A’ - Wednesday Night Georgian Bay Financial
Nothing has changed in the top ranks of this section. It's Julie Truscott, Joanne Gill, April McNamara and spare Terri Weeks, still without a loss, in their win over the Bev Webb rink. It was 4-3 for Julie after five, but the rest of the game was all Julie's.
In the Kelly Hergaarden versus Trudie Johnson game it's 5-1 for Trudie at half time. Pam faced three in end three, to cut her to one, then in end four faced four, and cut her to one, and kept doing this all along but could never get enough to catch up giving Trudie, Laura Thompson, Deanna Jackson and Marilyn Hall the win.
In the Laurie Robinson versus Trudy Orr game it was a fairly easy win for Laurie, Cece Barks, Erin Walker and Kari Barks as they picked up a big five points in the fifth end to show 7-3 on the scoreboard. Then in the sixth end, Laurie had a lonely yellow rock surrounded by fire of the opponents rocks to count again and go on for the win.
Section 'B' - Logan's of Parry Sound
We now have two teams sharing the spot light, each showing five wins in five games. It's Nanci Beers rink and the Sue Shadd rink. Sue's rink of Sue Lillie, Rebecca Cuter and Vicki Richardson had no trouble at all to win from the Bonnie Flaker rink, as Bonnie was always facing a number of rocks with no support from her team.
In the Heather Fisher versus Laura Mathews game, it was just the opposite kind of a game, a good closely fought game that went the full eight ends, down to the last rock. In end two Heather had an opportunity to count five, but missed by a hair. It was 5-2 at half time for Laura, and she kept that lead until the seventh end, when Heather closed the gap to tie it up, so it's tied going home, with Laura having the hammer, but Laura got no support in that eighth end, giving the win to Heather, Shannon Mahon, Stephanie Van Gilst and Kelly Hergaarden. That game was great to watch, as four new curlers showed such improvements.
Another good close game was the Joanne Morrish versus Beth McIsaac game.
Beth started with a three ender, then in end two Allison faced three, got a lucky wick in for shot to get on the scoreboard. It's 4-3 at half time for Beth.
In end six Beth faced five and cut it back to two, so now it's 6-6, tied going home with Beth, Pat Jarzembecki, Caitlyn Roosenboom and Cathy Nash squeezing out a win.
In then Sharon Greenwood versus Melissa Hayhurst game, Sharon, Valerie Wye and June Medwid, didn't waste any time, taking eight points in the first two ends and from then controlled the game with a win in six ends.
Friday morning ladies
All four sheets were in play. In the Kelly Stevenson versus Bob Holmes game it's 5-0 for Kelly at halftime.
Then Bob counted a big four to get on the board. Kelly was four up going home, Bob had the hammer, the circle was full of rocks, Bob threw a bullet and after everything settled Bob counted three, just one short of a tie game, with the win going to Kelly, Andrea Tranter, Valerie Wye and Jenny Pillgrem.
In the Joanne Morrish versus Joyce Baskey game, it was 3-1 for Joyce mid way, then tied 5-5 going home, with Joyce, Nancy Childerhose, Pauline Austin and Darlene Bloomfield taking the win.
In the Joen Huff versus Nanci Beers game, it's 4-2 for Joen at half time, then two big four enders gave Nanci, Lorna Morgan, Pat Jarzembecki and Pat Cramp the big win.
In the Liz Sims versus Sue Smith game, Liz was in full control of the scoreboard until the sixth end when Sue marked up a big give ender, but Liz, Sylvia Gorham, Carrole Gray and Cathy Nash took over again for a big win.
