Phylicia George sixth, Jessica Zelinka seventh in 100m hurdles final

Australia's Sally Pearson wins race

LONDON -- Canadians finished sixth and seventh in the women's 100m hurdles finals on Tuesday at the Olympic Games.

Phylicia George of Markham finished sixth in a time of 12.65, while London's Jessica Zelinka was just behind in seventh with a time of 12.69.

Sally Pearson of Australia won the race, setting a new Olympic record in 12.35. Americans ran second and third, with Dawn Harper second in 12.37 and Kellie Wells third in 12.48

Both Canadians qualified earlier in the day in the semifinals, George running a 12.65 in her heat and Zelinka a 12.66 in hers. Pickering's Nikkita Holder's time of 12.93 wasn't good enough to garner a spot in the finals.
