Durham Region will be well-represented at the London 2010 Olympics with nine hometown athletes competing.

BROOKLIN -- Emily Batty will compete in her first Olympics this summer. The 23-year-old cyclist from Brooklin has been making waves in the mountain biking community, coming eighth overall in the 2011 World Cup, and opening this season with a silver medal performance in South Africa. Batty is a member of the Subaru Trek racing team.
