THORNHILL -- Thornhill's Milos Raonic is Canada's highest-ranked male singles player since computer rankings began in 1973, currently sitting at 21st in the world.

After qualifying for his first grand slam event at the 2010 U.S. Open, in 2011 he rose from No. 152 to No. 37 in a month, after he reached the fourth round of the Australian Open and won his first ATP title at the SAP Open.

Raonic, who prefers to play on hard courts, is most notable for his serve, which is powerful and accurate.

At just 21, he will be making his Olympic debut when he takes to the grass courts of the All England Club in Wimbledon beginning July 28.
