GOTZIS, AUSTRIA -- Two-time Olympic medallist Tonya Verbeek, of Beamsville, and three other London-bound Canadian wrestlers will get some pre-Games action in this weekend in Austria.
All four women wrestlers who have qualified to be nominated for the Olympic team will be wrestling in an international open tournament on Saturday.
"We are excited about this tournament," said Olympic coach Leigh Vierling, in a press release. "The event will be a good way for our girls to prepare for the Olympic Games. We had a great showing at the Women's World Cup last weekend, and we are looking to fine-tune our preparations and operations prior to the Olympic Games."
In addition to Verbeek, Canada will be represented by Olympic champion Carol Huynh of British Columbia, Martine Dugrenier of Quebec and Leah Callahan of Alberta.
