Phantoms down three to two going into Game 6

BRACEBRIDGE – Following an overtime effort to tie the semifinal series at two all, Game 5 of the best-of-seven series saw the Bracebridge Phantoms drop three games to two in an 8-2 win for the Temiscaming Titans, played in Temiscaming.
Game 6 is back in Bracebridge Sunday, March 17, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bracebridge Memorial Arena. If necessary, Game 7 is hosted by the Titans.
In Game 4 on March 14, the Bracebridge Phantoms won their big swing game and tied their Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League north division semifinal series against the Temiscaming Titans at two all.
It was a crucial win for the first-year expansion Phantoms, which were facing the possibility of having to travel back to Temiscaming down 3-1.
It took only a couple of minutes for the Phantoms to score their first goal March 14 with Michael Spacek going top-side and shattering the Titans netminder’s water bottle for an exciting start to the night. The Titans drew even shortly after on the power play, but the Phantoms would take a 2-1 advantage into the second thanks to Lester Brown with only about a minute left in the first.
The two clubs traded lone goals in the second, and the third went in the Titans’ favour as they tied things up with about 10 minutes left to go in the third.
It didn’t take long in the OT period, as Phantom forward Nemanja Vucurevic potted the winner about four minutes in.
