Thanks to those who helped

Bridge in the Afternoon

I have to start by thanking Chris Haxell, Jim Macfie, Bob Jarvis, and Jerry Daley for stepping up to run the Parry Sound Bridge Club on Tuesday, Aug. 14 while I was being operated on for a broken wrist.
I will also take this time to thank ‘all’ of the emergency staff at our wonderful local hospital.  I would not want their jobs for all the tea in China.  What a great job they do during what I would call dreadful emergencies, and I had plenty of time to witness the staff’s amazing care during my six hour stay.
It is hard to type with a woozy brain, sore right hand, and a numb left, so Chalk Talk information will have to wait until next week.
A Mitchell movement was played and after the scores were tallied the winners were as follows:
Results
North/South: First,  Holly Lipsett – Elizabeth Preston; second, Malkin Howes – Nora Robinson; third, ILA Sandwell – Margaret Hagerman; and fourth, Ann Dunnigan – Barbara Yarnold.
East/West: First and first overall,  John Ducklow – Gail Payne; second, Ken Burgoyne – Chris Beck; third: Mary Stricker – Mel Prideaux; and fourth:, Brenda Burnett – Bob Jarvis.
Game results can be found in the Parry Sound section of the following web site. http://www.unit238.bridge-club.org/node/97
The Parry Sound Bridge Club is an ACBL sanctioned duplicate game, and is held every Tuesday afternoon in the West Parry Sound Seguin Drop-In Centre, 80 James Street, Parry Sound, Ontario.  Chalk Talk starts at 12:30 p.m. and the duplicate game starts sharply at 1:00 p.m.
You must be there by 12:45 p.m. to register.  If you are alone, you will be matched with a partner.   For further information please contact: Ann Szarka 705 389-3660.
