Hockey tournament keeps fans on edge of seats
HUNTSVILLE – Female hockey players descended on Huntsville this past weekend as the Huntsville Girls Hockey Association hosted its 36th Annual Tournament Jan. 11 to 13.
The event was a great success hosting 58 teams, with over 1200 players and staff from across the province. It was an action packed weekend with some very close games, sudden death over time periods and several shootouts, which all kept fans sitting on the edges of their seats.
Winners from each division were Caledon Coyotes Husky atom house league, Norfolk Hericanes peewee B, Oakville Murray peewee house league, West Grey bantam B, North Bay Guardian Angels bantam house league, Norfolk Hericanes midget B, Pembroke midget house league, and Timmins Blades senior C.
Both local teams, the ProActive Rehab Huntsville Sting Peewee B girls and the Huntsville Honeys Senior C, qualified for finals and finished in second place in their divisions.
