Runners are being sought for the return of the Windermere Terry Fox Run this fall.
Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Windermere Village Park, the run will take place between 9 a.m. and noon. The run is an annual fundraiser for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation, a non-profit that has raised over $600 million for the cause to date.
“We also implore you to bring out as many people as you possibly can to the run,” said Sue Marshall, a member of the event’s organizing committee. “We look forward to having new folks join our community event.”
Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m., and the run will also feature a barbecue, a silent auction and a special station where pets can have refreshments. The event is being coordinated in cooperation with the Windermere Lions Club.
