PARRY SOUND - Warhammer 40K a table top strategy war game was held at Crafts N’ Things on Sunday, June 23.
There were 14 Players in attendance, ranging in age from 12 to 40. The tournament was the final event of a four-month Escalation League.
The league was started as a way for players new to the game to start learning the rules and strategies of the game. Each month players expanded their armies. Organizer Tammy Federico said Sunday the tournament was a huge success.
“The whole point was to allow people to try out new armies, and work towards having fully prepared and painted army,” Federico said.
New to the world of table-top war game is David Coles and his son A.J.
“We’re sort of working together as a team. I enjoy building and painting the kits, while he (AJ) likes to play the game itself,” Coles said, adding this type of league was an excellent opportunity for new players to get into the hobby.
Federico said she is already working on the next event.
“We are going to start another league for Warhammer Fantasy. We’ve already had people sign up, and they are starting their new armies,” she said.
