Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka is planning a messy event. Siblings will be doused in paint on Saturday, May 19, as the community is invited to help raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka through a paintball tournament at Back Country Paintball in Bracebridge.
Jennifer Jackson, interim executive director for the organization, said there will be some big brother big sister teams there, but the event is open to anyone.
The purpose of the event it to raise money as well as community awareness, said Jackson.
“Even a year and a half ago a lot of people didn’t even know Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka even existed, or still existed,” said Jackson.
To be part of the event, paintballers must form a team of four.
Back Country Paintball is donating the rentals and admission. Competitors will pay $60 for the paint, or they can raise $100 in donations and play for free.
The event starts at 9:45 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m. There will also be a barbecue lunch and prizes.
