HUNTSVILLE - The 18th annual Muskoka Kids Tri was another resounding success, according to one of its organizers.
The sold-out field of 270 competitors included 147 athletes from outside the Muskoka region, with some entered into the event from as far away as California.
“It went really well, it was a great day,” said Sharon Wallace, the co-organizer of the event with Jane Wolfe. “The weather was terrific. We did have some issues with timing but that got sorted out.”
Port Sydney resident and Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement welcomed the athletes to the event and 12-year-old Shirley Cherry got the event officially underway with a resounding rendition of O Canada.
The youngest entrant was six years old and the oldest was 63 years old.
