Muskoka Kids Tri another great success, says co-organizer

Field sold out again, with competitors’ ages ranging from six to 63

HUNTSVILLE - The 18th annual Muskoka Kids Tri was another resounding success, according to one of its organizers.
The sold-out field of 270 competitors included 147 athletes from outside the Muskoka region, with some entered into the event from as far away as California.
“It went really well, it was a great day,” said Sharon Wallace, the co-organizer of the event with Jane Wolfe. “The weather was terrific. We did have some issues with timing but that got sorted out.”
Port Sydney resident and Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement welcomed the athletes to the event and 12-year-old Shirley Cherry got the event officially underway with a resounding rendition of O Canada.
The youngest entrant was six years old and the oldest was 63 years old.
Listed below are the top three finishers in each of the categories.  
6-7 girls: first-Astrid Bergman, Toronto; second - Mya Marshall, Huntsville; third - Julia Caswell, Huntsville.
6-7 boys: first - Kinnon Ringler, Toronto; second - Kelton Hopper, Caledon; third - Sam Richter, Port Sydney.
8 girls: first - Chloe Punkari, Huntsville; second - Rachel Anderson, Parry Sound; third - Madeleine Arsenault, Huntsville.
8 boys: first - Bohdan Hrsotovytskyy, Toronto; second - Cole Punchard, Huntsville; third - Zak Varieur, Huntsville.
9-10 girls: first - Allyson Goldring, Utterson; second - Fiona Shearing, Huntsville; third - Gabrielle Burnett, Bancroft.
9-10 boys: first - James Olon-Keating, Bracebridge; second - Mark Cox, Huntsville; third - Adam Dupuis, Huntsville
11-12 girls: first - Teagan Shapansky, Ottawa; second - Avery Webber, Burlington; third - Samantha Goldring, Utterson.
11-12 boys: first - Mitchell Cox, Huntsville; second - Hal Malcolm, Mississauga; third - Graham Shearing, Port Sydney.
13-14 girls: first - Rachel Webber, Burlington; second - Emma Mensour, Huntsville; third - Christie Gray, Vancouver.
13-14 boys: first - Garrett Reynolds, Ventura, California; second - Nikolai Racicot, Caledon; third - William Malcolm, Mississauga.
15-18 girls: first - Samantha Lewis, Caledon; second - Nicole Campbell, Mississauga; third - Siobhan Vanderklay, Mississauga.
15-18 boys: first - Andrew Just, Huntsville; second - Chalmers McAllister, Bolton; third - Bem Partington, Brampton.
19-39 women: first - Kailey Richter, Port Sydney; second - Daisy Martin, Colborne; third - Mara Hallman, Port Sydney.
19-39 men: first - Josh Kramer, Guelph; second - Brad Vokes, Owen Sound; third - Spencer Brown, Thornhill.
40-plus women: first - Catherine Ringler, Toronto; second - Tracy Marshall, Huntsville; third - Alicia Olson-Keating, Bracebridge.
40-plus men: first - Mark Caswell, Markham; second - Jason McDonald, Elmira; third - David Chow, North York.
