HUNTSVILLE - The Huntsville Otters will be hitting the ice for the first time this weekend as a junior C club.
The Otters are hosting a rookie camp at the Gravenhurst Centennial Arena on Saturday, with one session running from 10 a.m. to noon and another from 1 to 3 p.m.
The cost to attend the camp is $40 per player.
Players are required to fill out a form found on the team’s website, www.huntsvilleotters.com, and email it to craigshaw45@gmail.com before the training sessions.
All players are also required to have a permission to skate form from their team.  Anyone needing any more information can contact assistant general manager Craig Shaw at 705-571-1321.
The team is making its first foray back into the junior C ranks after spending the past eight years as members of the Ontario Junior Hockey league.
The team was part of a contraction program this past off-season, but a new team for Huntsville was accepted into the Georgian league for this coming season.
