Here we are into our first month with our newly elected president Roby Floyd, due to the sudden death of our well-liken president Don Johnston.
Rob, along with executive members Sue Land, Joe Miles, Joen Huff, Sue Major, Frank Gallant, Fern Lachance, John Taylor and Phil Miller will take over.
I feel Rob will capably fill the president’s chair.
Monday bid euchre had a good turnout with 11 tables, giving Doreen Fretz 232, Roy Stoddard 290 and Fred Kaunsinger the travel prize.
There were 10 moonshots made with Gwen Whillans making her fifth. It was nice to have Betty Mueller back for the summer.
Cribbage on Thursday showed Ursual Muckenheim and Ed Morden the winners, but no counts were recorded. 500 still had only three tables.
Friday afternoon euchre had 10 tables with high scores of 88 for Marie Alves and 87 for Helen Crawford. Harvey Clare made six long hands.
Break
Harvey and Dot Johnson treated us to sandwiches and home baking for coffee break. We are so happy to have Mary Montgomery well enough to be joining us for cards.
Friday night bid euchre had 10 tables with Don Lockhart having a lucky night, getting two moonshots and a high score of 361.
Well behind for second was Fred Kaunsinger with 314. The travel prize went to summer visitor Phil Tulley. Eleven moonshots were made with Don and Glen Fretz having two.
We hope Terry Green and Ola Forsyth will soon be feeling better.
Condolences go out to Marta Wakeford on the loss of her husband.
We are enjoying our flowerbeds. Thanks to the care given by Ruby Pavuk.
Our next Rama trip is Tuesday, Aug. 21.
