LONDON, ENGLAND -- Toronto's Alex Bruce and Markham's Michelle Li will exit the Olympics without a win in badminton.
Canada's lone entry in the women's doubles competition bowed out in straight sets Tuesday morning to Russia's Valeria Sorokina and Nina Vislova, 21-8, 21-10 at Wembley Arena.
The Canadians were also handled quite easily by China's Xiaoli Wang and Yang Yu and South Korea's Kyung Eun Jung and Ha Na Kim earlier in the tournament, leaving them last in their pool. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the quarter-finals.
Li also took part in singles play, but was taken out by number one ranked Yihan Wang of China in an elimination match Monday.
