Thanking a Good Samaritan for winter help
January 2, 2013
More people should take the time to care.
I wanted to write a thank you letter to the woman who stood and waited with me after my accident last week.
And the few who stopped to see if I was alright.
I was on my way to my nephew’s Christmas concert Dec. 12 in Parry Sound. I took the Aspdin Road and not even ten minutes out of town the back end of my van slipped on a patch of ice and I spun around twice before sliding backwards into the ditch hitting a tree.
I was shaken up but perfectly unharmed.
As I was sitting there waiting for the police and the tow truck to arrive, I could not believe how many people went by without stopping or asking how I was.
I for one have always and will always stop to see how the person/people in the accident are. If they need to use a phone, get warm, are harmed or just need someone to stay with them until help arrives.
There was however one caring woman who pulled up and stayed with me for a while. I hope she was not too late for her hair appointment. I am very grateful that she stopped that day to see if I was alright and stayed with me. It shows there are caring people still out there.
I am also grateful that I was alone that day and my young children were not in the van!
