HUNTSVILLE - Two local businesses have stepped up to assist a major event in the community, which is happening late next month.
Deerhurst Resort and the New Bickley Ford, have stepped up to the plate to be key sponsors for the Ontario 55-plus Winter Games.
Both sponsored the 2010 Ontario Winter Youth Games and the 2012 Ontario ParaSport Winter Games, held in Huntsville.
Deerhurst is the games’ major accommodation provider, and will be hosting the opening and closing ceremonies in the resort’s new Legacy Hall. Both events will be for all 1,000 participants
The New Bickley Ford is providing games’ staff with a Ford Flex for promotional purposes, and the use of trucks to set up and move equipment at games time, as well as providing mini-vans for shuttle service
“We are so proud and grateful for having The New Bickley Ford and Deerhurst Resort as sponsors for the Ontario 55-plus Winter Games,” said games chair Jonathan Wiebe. “These are two very generous sponsors that have helped out in the past and continue to pledge support for future events such as this one that’s coming in February. Simply put, our community is made better because of them.”
More than 1,000 athletes, officials and fans are expected to come here Feb. 26 to 28 for the provincial multi-sport championship.
The Canada Summit Centre, Lake of Bays Community Centre, Huntsville High School, Riverside Public School, Huntsville Curling Club, Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, Delta Grandview Resort and Arrowhead Provincial Park will host events throughout the three days.
