Guha due back in court in January

December 12, 2012

Local lion owner Nanda Guha’s court case has been pushed over until the new year.

Court staff confirmed last week that the Utterson man is due to reappear in court on Jan. 22, after he appeared briefly in a Bracebridge court on Thursday, Dec. 6. Guha is facing a charge of failing to comply with prescribed standards of care under the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

The OSPCA announced it laid the charge against Guha in October, about two months after a lion nearly escaped from his exotic animal farm Guha’s Lions and Tigers.
