Township news
Here are some Township of Georgian Bay news items. The 2011 audit was accepted. We are in better shape this year compared to last year. Now that education, district, and the township have approved budgets, taxes will increase about 2.7 per cent on average. Council approved the purchase of a 16 X 20 foot stage for use throughout the township and for rental outside. The purchase is supported by an Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant. Staff will be advertising for five volunteers to serve on the new planning committee.
Plans are well under way for the annual Big Weekend in Muskoka taking place in MacTier beginning on Friday, Aug. 3 and running right through until the evening of Sunday, Aug. 5. You can expect lots of family fun enjoying the beach volleyball tournament, the family movie night, under the big top comedy night, live entertainment, a children’s midway area, community barbecue, spectacular fireworks and so much more.
