Muskoka Brewery replaces Labatt to sponsor Honda Indy

A small local craft brewer is taking the place of a major brewery as a sponsor of the annual Honda Indy race in Toronto.
The deal was announced as Labatt’s three-year sponsorship deal with the race wrapped up last summer. Muskoka Brewery will be joining another craft brewer — Amsterdam Brewery of Toronto — to sponsor the race.
Muskoka Brewery marketing director Mike Laba quickly took to social media to announce the refreshing new deal.
“Big win for craft beer! Honda Indy chooses Ontario Craft Brewers — Muskoka Brewery and Amsterdam — over the large (breweries),” he wrote.
The sponsorship deal means that beers from the two craft brewers will be the only beers served during the event.
The annual street course race, which takes place each summer in Toronto, draws upwards of 65,000 attendees each year, and is one of six Canadian Indy circuits.
