Bid Euchre Tournament
This was the 25th bid euchre tournament that I have convened, and it was one of our best fundraising efforts, thanks to the many supporters, especially Grant, who prepared the fresh tasty lunch. The home baked pies, donated by our members just hit the spot. The draw table was highlighted by Joan Penfolds home baking. Thanks greatly to helpers Greta Taylor, Hugh Green, Sue Major and Jurgen Tietz.
Our lucky winners were: First, Glenn Fretz won $100, with a score of 444; second, Pat Bissonette won $75, with a score of 376; and third, Barb Frazer won $50, with a score of 372.
There were 11 moonshots made. The most points made in one game were 84, made by Ruby Reed and Terry Wiseman.
Monday bid euchre top count was 319 for Sue Major and 314 for Bob O’Callaghan. This was Bobs first win this year. Only one moonshot was made that by Bill Nelson, it being his first this year.
The Friday afternoon euchre has a new name on the winners’ board as last week Ed Morden went to the winners’ board with the highest score this year, 91. Very good Ed.
This weeks winners had real close scores with Helen Crawford having 80 and Joen Huff 79, Barb Johnson made five lone hands.
Our next Rama trip is Tuesday, June 19.
Mark you calendars for our Chinese supper at 6 p.m., followed by our annual general meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 21.
All of our members send get well messages to our president Don Johnson.
