Moose FM radio stations sold

HUNTSVILLE - The Moose FM radio stations, including those in Huntsville, Bracebridge and Parry Sound, have been sold with 21 other Haliburton Broadcasting Group Inc. stations.
Westerkirk Capital Inc. announced Monday it has agreed to purchase Vista Radio Ltd., from its parent company, Vista Broadcast Group Inc.
Westkirk Capital officials announced at the same time that Vista Radio Ltd. has entered into an agreement to purchase the radio broadcast business of Haliburton Broadcasting Group Inc.
Vista Radio was founded in 2004 and has grown to 38 broadcast licences serving over 50 communities throughout British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
“I could not have picked a better successor to continue the legacy we started at Haliburton,” said Christopher Grossman, CEO and president of Haliburton. “Vista cares in the same way as Haliburton about its employees, listeners and advertisers. Vista will take our radio business to the next level and that will create tremendous opportunities for our employees.”
Grossman founded Haliburton in 1997. Today Haliburton operates 24 radio stations throughout Ontario, primarily under the Moose FM brand, with stations throughout Muskoka and as far north as Timmins and as far south as Niagara.
Financial terms of both acquisitions were not disclosed. The deal still requires Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approval.
