Thanks for Gowan
April 11, 2012
Anyone who missed Gowan last Monday night at the Charles W. Stockey Centre missed a rare opportunity to revisit the days of rockers, big stage sets and much activity with ‘Lords a Leaping’.
Not since the heyday of Hendrix, Morrison and Jagger at the Montreal Forum have I experienced such a night.
My ears are still ringing and I expect I’m not alone.
Nor am I alone in appreciation.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation is lucky enough to be the recipient of Joe and Fatima Bamford’s great desire to bring terrific concerts to the area with profits (money remaining after all expenses are paid) coming to the Foundation.
When Joe and Fatima are not simply hanging at their cottage in the MacTier area, they are busy providing uber-buses to celebrities on tour.
The luxury tour buses have connected them with the likes of Jan Arden, Jim Cuddy and yes, Gowan to name a few great stars. Joe and Fatima have been calling favours to bring greats to Parry Sound.
This past Monday night was another of their ‘Off-the-Bus’ concerts.
The Foundation, on behalf of all staff and patients at the Health Centre, is so grateful for Joe and Fatima’s unique form of support.
And, from the joy in the audience, so are the folks that would not normally have a chance to watch the entertainers Joe brings.
Thanks Joe and Fatima and thanks to everyone who attend their concert series.
The concerts support the Charles W. Stockey Centre, the Foundation and the ‘happiness quotient’ amongst audience goers. Rock on!
