Housing needed not an airport expansion

The front page story titled, Airport development taking off (January 27) is very disturbing.
All the politicians can do, is tell us how we are going to have to  tighten our belts because money is tight.
Seguin council has raped the Belvedere budget, services that were at one time provided to our most vulnerable senior citizens have been curtailed.
Seguin is about to launch an attack on District Social Services Administration Board to squeeze every cent they can out of it.
When will this stupidity stop?
Affordable housing has been identified as a long overdue need in our area. I haven’t seen any articles from our citizens of Seguin supporting more hangers for the airport.  I have however seen many articles supporting affordable housing for our area.
Why are we funding a half million dollars of taxpayers money for an airport expansion to serve those lucky few who can afford a private plane and build a private hanger?
If Seguin wants growth it should encourage the expansion of private development in the Northwest Seguin Development  area.  This is not taxpayers dollars, this is real growth.
