The cottagers on Mirror Lake, where it narrows and the Indian River starts to feed into Lake Muskoka, owe a huge thanks to the marine division of the OPP.
We have had some tranquil days, there has been the absence of roaring engines and our shorelines have not been awash, all due to the presence of the marine unit.
The days have been few, but noticeable and enjoyable. The balance of the season many, not all, the licensed or unlicensed throttle the engines and blast their way through these narrows with absolute disregard for fellow cottagers and cause irreparable damage to the shoreline and sensitive marsh land.
Our thanks to the OPP; your presence on our lake is most welcome.
