The residents of Lynx Lake Road and adjacent area have repeatedly publicly expressed concern regarding the potential placement of a cell tower in this area. The main reason for opposition is the negative effect of electro magnetic radiation impacting on human and wildlife health and the environment.
To substantiate our cause, a major Canadian hospital, Women’s College Hospital, in Toronto officially recognizes that electro magnetic radiation negatively impacts human health.
In a recent press release they state that family doctors must learn to recognize the symptoms of exposure to electro-magnetic radiation, citing the symptoms as disrupted sleep, headache, nausea, dizziness, heart palpitations, memory loss and skin rashes.
These symptoms are labelled as Electro-magnetic Hyper-sensitivity or EMS.
Health care practitioners need to better understand EMS so that they can help their patients, according to Dr. Rina Bray, medical director of the hospital’s Environmental Health Committee.
This hospital’s Environmental Health Committee has begun holding educational workshops on the subject for doctors.
It’s also worth noting that last year the World Health Organization (WHO) placed microwave radiation from wireless internet and cell phones on an official cancer watch list.
These findings are significant regarding our well being. Let’s hope that the appropriate attention will be given to this issue.
