Once again, this community and many others from all over the province, have come together to support a family in need.
Last July, Jennifer and Kris Walker were married, here in Parry Sound. Just two months later, Kris was the victim of a horrifying gunshot accident the would change their lives forever.
Last weekend a benefit dance was held in their honour to raise money to help support the ongoing, out-of-pocket expenses that accompany a situation like this.
It never ceases to amaze me how generous and how deep people will dig into their pockets, often times for someone they don’t even know. The amount of money raised far exceeded our expectations!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, individuals and businesses alike, who attended, donated money and/or items for the silent auction and prizes and all of those people who gave their time freely to make this fundraiser a huge success.
Thank you once again for your generosity! It is very much appreciated!
