I would like to thank, publicly, the staff and students of Riverside School for the Grandparent Day celebration we had on the morning of May 17.
The school spirit was palpable. Enthusiasm, co-operation, encouragement and respect were very obvious at the “rowdy” assembly.
It was heart-warming to hear the sincere letters to the elders; and see the enviro award being given to the student who helped “weed” his grandparents’ garden. Loved: the dancing, singing, newly formed rock group and Olympic cheers.
Our snack was delicious.
Thanks for letting us participate in the classroom and for the lengthened recess. What fun it was to see grandpas skipping and grandmas playing tag and hot potato.
I feel like the Grinch when his heart grew and grew and grew…
Kudos Riverside! You love your grandparents, and we say, “Right back at you!”
Heather Maxwell,
proud grandma of Judah
