Many hands make light work! That saying was so true during the Timbit’s Provincial Elementary School Curling Championships that took place here in Parry Sound April 12 -15. To have such a venture happen, it take many, many volunteers to get the job done.
We had about 150 volunteers working tirelessly before the event and throughout the 4 days doing a variety of jobs - officiating, preparing snacks for curlers, decorating, selling raffle tickets, taking care of the silent auction, registering the teams, supervising the dance, ice makers, draw masters, crowd control, photographers, and many miscellaneous jobs that came up.
The volunteers were curling members, parents and grandparents of our junior curlers, teachers, high school students, and community members. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Without your help such a venture would not have been possible. The 80 curling teams from all over Ontario thank you too for making their curling experience here a pleasant one.
Way to go Parry Sound!
Many thanks,
The organizing committee.
