Not just hot air

Putting a windmill on a school sounds like a pretty simple concept. Delve a little deeper, and the impact of a small wind turbine on St. Peter’s Catholic School carries an impact that runs deep.
At its most basic level, the Green School Pilot program will reduce the school’s carbon footprint – times five as four other schools will also see wind turbines on their roofs.
More importantly, the move shows our youngest generation that we truly do care about the environment, despite the devastation we’ve already left in our wake. Leading by example, turns the lights on for young minds in who we’ll put the fate of the planet in years to come. Seen from Highway 69, it will also remind the community of the importance of being green.
