Opinion headline misleading; reader

(Re: Our Opinion, January 2, Fifty shades of blue)
While it may fit in with the Harper Conservatives' campaign to revise Canadian history, Andy Mitchell was not a Conservative Member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka, but a popular Liberal one for 13 years, serving in the Cabinets of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.
Not checking the facts about Andy demeans the reputation of a man who contributed so much to this riding's economic development.
His ability to work with traditional Conservatives, New Democrats and Independent voters allowed him to break the stranglehold that one party had on the politics of Parry Sound-Muskoka, allowing for a more democratic balance of debate. For me, that is his most important legacy.
At least be fair, and correct your title to - Thirteen Years of Red, Thirty-Seven Long Years of Blue.
