Election burnout

What were you doing one year ago? On October 6 last year, the people of Ontario went to the polls, electing Dalton McGuinty as premier. Well, not all the people. The voter turnout was only 49 per cent, a record low in Ontario.
The financial report for that election is not yet out, but it is projected that it cost the Ontario taxpayers $91,500,000 (projected elections cost estimate, Elections Canada).
Why should the taxpayers be forced to carry the burden of yet another provincial election?
How many million dollars will the next election cost us?
Perhaps Mr. McGuinty should have thought of a more economical way to leave the building?
