I whole-heartily agree with Kathie Mosher’s letter to the editor (Moving Grades 7 & 8 to high school not beneficial to children, reader published Oct. 5). Who in the world would think it’s a good idea to lump Grades 7 and 8 into a high school atmosphere? I am a parent of two young men aged 14 and 17 and I thank my lucky stars my boys have passed these grades and are in high school, but I feel for those parents of Grade 7 and 8 students.
A high school atmosphere during adolescence I feel would be of no good to these kids. As adolescents they lack the self-confidence and maturity for high school. I will stand behind all parents of this age group to petition against this move the Near North District School Board has implemented and I invite other citizens of this town to do the same.
