Bell television customers beware

Huntsville Forester

By now many Bell TV customers in our community have received a form letter, signed by Andrew Wright Vice President of Residential Services, informing them that they need to have new Bell TV receivers installed, as their existing receivers “will soon no longer work.”
Installation is free and the new TV receiver models “will provide you with an even wider selection of channels.”
What Bell TV did not state in their letter and what their technicians don’t tell you is that any previously recorded TV programs (using the PVR feature) and programming schedules already set up will not transfer to the new receiver.
In other words, my five years worth of recorded programs, dramas, special broadcasts and series simply disappeared.
Poof. Gone.
And no one from Bell ever thought to inform me that this would happen. Ask the Bell technicians about this when they come to your homes.
Hang on to your old receivers. Write, phone or email Bell TV and tell them that their current practise of not fully disclosing this information to their customers is unacceptable.
