Chief should resign over G20 handling

Huntsville Forester

Dear Chief Bill Blair: I just read of the independent report “Blindly following orders,” in the Toronto Star, regarding your G20 (treatment) of citizens by your troops, many of whom beat citizens, often innocent bystanders and/or peaceful protesters. This thuggery was the behaviour we see and hear of in countries like North Korea or Putin’s Russia.
You were Stephen Harper’s man in charge. You are responsible for the mass arrest. You are Harper’s cipher. Your troops behaved illegally when they removed their badge numbers/name tags.
I’ve written you before a couple of times requesting you resign. It’s obvious this outrageous debacle not to mention outrageous expense (north of $700 million) at taxpayers’ loss was Stephen Harper’s big party and even bigger perversion of citizens’ civil liberties. Harper is unembarrassable (sic). He’s your dictator. It’s time you show real leadership and courage by resigning. Take responsibility — you were just following orders. Otherwise, no one will trust peace officers. Trust is the issue.
