SEGUIN TWP. - After heading out snowmobiling, a Seguin Township teaching assistant was found dead last week.
Emergency workers were dispatched to Whitefish Lake Friday to the scene of an injured snowmobiler.
The police investigation determined that a group of people had been snowmobiling together when part of the group didn't arrive at an area residence. When they returned to the scene, they found a woman on the ice and unresponsive.
Tracy Mullen, 44, of Seguin Township was pronounced dead at the West Parry Sound Health Centre. The post mortem examination found the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Christine Reekie, a close friend of Mullen, believes she would like to be remembered as an educator who loved and cared for children.
"She had a contagious sense of humour and always a warm smile," said Reekie. " She loved spending time with her family and traveling. They spent a lot of time boating."
She leaves behind her husband Doug Mullin and two daughters - one 17 and one 15.
The OPP continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Parry Sound OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
