PARRY SOUND - Police are looking for a local scammer.
On February 8 a local business owner was approached by a man who identified himself as the owner of a local electronics store. The man said he was selling off ‘scratch and dent’ products and offered to sell the victim an iPad.
After the business owner paid for the iPad, the man failed to deliver the product.
The first suspect is described as a man in his mid 50s roughly 6 feet tall and weighing between 230 and 250 lbs. He had a dark or tanned complexion with short hair and facial stubble.
The man was accompanied by a second older male who appeared to be between 60 and 70 years old. They were operating a small grey sports utility vehicle.
Police say that if an offer seems suspicious or too good to be true it probably is.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the West Parry Sound OPP Constable Joe Villeneuve at 705-746-4225. Alternatively, to help out but remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
