Man distracts store cashiers, walks off with large bills

PARRY SOUND – The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to two separate reports of a male party attending local businesses and asking for change for large bills ($50 and $100).
The party requested small bills in exchange for his $50 or $100 dollar bill, according to police.
He then used distracting techniques on the cashiers, diverting their attention while he exits with the store’s money and his original bill.
Police described the suspect as caucasian male approximately 30-40 years of age, with blue eyes, about five feet, nine inches tall, wearing a black leather coat and gray/ black toque.
The OPP remind storeowners to be diligent in protecting themselves from this scam and urge anyone with information or who has encountered the suspect to contact them immediately.
