Everyone is welcome to attend events at the legion

Legion News Branch 117

On February 23 we are holding our first dinner and dance evening, beginning at 6 p.m. there will be a chicken breast dinner with dessert along with coffee or tea. Cooks for this month will be Joyce and Frank and their team of dedicated helpers.
Then, beginning at 8 p.m. there will be the dance with the Country Tradition band consisting of Bob and Craig Harley and Joe Whittaker.
There will be old time music for a variety of dances and, of course since it is old time music, square dances as well. Just like in the olden days, bring your loved ones or just a good friend out for a dinner and dance date on a Saturday night.
Not quite as cheap as in the old days, but a really good bargain at just  $15 a person for the dinner and dance. The dinner only is just $11, the dance only is just $5.
Tickets are available in advance at the bar during business hours.
Get yours before they’re sold out.
We are always trying to find something new at the legion to bring people in and to be able to keep the legion doors open.
We strive to keep the memory alive of the men and women that fought in the many wars, that is why the legion was conceived at first; to honor those who fought in the wars, to remember those who didn’t come home, to say thanks to those who returned home some with very vivid memories of the horror that so many went through so that we can have the freedom that we have today in this world.
Remember that the legion is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m., we have a nice sized hall to rent along with a kitchen and there is a licensed bartender on duty.
We have a jam session each month, usually the second Sunday, with old time music and dancing, french fries and drinks are available for purchase, and there is a $3 cover charge for singles and $5 a couple to cover the costs incurred with the door being open on a Sunday.
There are two pool tables and dart boards downstairs for your use and enjoyment.
Why not come out and take advantage of them, they are there for your enjoyment.
Friday night wing special
Friday nights are wing nights; a jug of draft and a pound of wings for $20.
A pound of wings only  $9 and fresh cut french fries are $ 2 an order.
For legion members, remember that our general meetings are the third Thursday of each month except in July and August and begin at 7 p.m.
It would be nice to see more members come out and attend these meetings and show everyone there, that you do care. Hope to see you come out and join in.
