Fenbrook under lockdown

GRAVENHURST – The medium security federal penitentiary remains under lockdown as staff search the facility.
The lockdown began at approximately 11 a.m on September 21, 2012, and was ordered by the acting warden following the seizure of contraband and receipt of information that there may be more contraband within the institution.
"The safety and security of our institutions is the primary consideration of the Correctional Service of
Canada (CSC). Fenbrook Institution will re-open as soon as it is determined safe to do so," stated a media release issued by the institution yesterday afternoon.
Visits to the institution have been suspended. Those who have previously scheduled visits are
asked to contact the institution directly.
