Riders to represent Parry Sound at Trillium Championship

MCKELLAR TWP – Local riders from Islandview Farm in McKellar have qualified in their respective divisions for the provincial Trillium Championships held at Caledon Horse Park in Palgrave, Ontario.
It is a huge show, held over five days, with top competitors from all over Ontario.
Horse/rider combinations gather points won at their zone’s Trillium level shows they attend throughout the year. There are seven zones in Ontario in the Trillium circuit. They must be in the top seven placings in the year-end standings to qualify for the championships.
Sarah Creasor, 17, showed Islandview’s sporthorse, For Your Eyes Only, winning a champion 9 Jumper Division and a 9 Reserve Champion Jumper Division. At the two Knowlton Ridge shows.
This helped her earn her qualification for her Jumper Division at the championships.
Sarah also competed in the A Equitation, and qualified in that as well.
Bailey McPhaden, 15, competed with her Trakehner Appendix cross As You Wish, in the Hack Division and also in the B Equitation to qualify for both. Bailey’s horse also earned qualification in the Open 2’6” Hunter, under her coach Kimberly Weber.
These talented and committed young riders will be representing their Northeast zone, which encompasses Parry Sound/Muskoka, to Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay on September 6 to 10.
Congratulations and best wishes for a great championship show.
