Crossing guard David Tucci helps a student cross Gibson Street near William Beatty School Tuesday morning. Streets in and around Parry Sound were busier than usual as children across the district headed back to class. West Parry Sound OPP remind motorists to keep an eye out for children who are getting on and off school busses and those walking to school. Drivers also need to remember that more and more youths are texting and talking on cell phones as they travel to and from school and are likely to be more unaware of their surroundings. Using cell phones while driving is against the law and particularly dangerous in and around school zones where kids are walking.
