PARRY SOUND - Parry Sound emergency services are kicking off the Sirens for Life campaign next week. In partnership with Canadian Blood Services, the emergency services blood donor challenge has police, fire, and EMS workers competing to donate the most blood. The goal this year is to collect 100 units of blood in North/East Ontario and to increase the number of young, male, ethnically diverse registrants on the One Match Stem Cell and Marrow Network. All three branches of emergency services were at the Parry Sound Fire Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 28 to rally together for support. Blood donor clinics will held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Thursday and Friday and donors can give on behalf of the emergency service of their choice.
